Visible Love
Visible Love is an irreverent adult satire about the effect of AIDS fears on heterosexuals in the 1980s. Seven friends survive, without dignity, a decade of erotic retrenchment when risk factors were incalculable and semen had lost its luster as a sacred fluid. The aworried wella became victims of their own infected imaginations. The story begins in west Los Angeles in 1979 as Rebecca Turnan dreams of a romantic liaison to enliven her conventional marriage with the affable but predictable Charles. The Turnans reluctantly take on lovers. Another couple, the ultra-svelte Ginger and Troy Zoe, are weekend swingers whose sex club struggles to choose between fear and boredom. Elaine, is married to Josh Webb who secretly fellates men in public restrooms. Politely homophobic, he seeks straight men as donors, hundreds of them, feeling ecstatically and deeply connected through semen transfer to a vast community of faceless husbands, wives, sons, and daughters. When HIV threatens to aouta him as something heas not, panic moves him to a surprising end in the jungles of Brazil. Will casual sex ever be fun again?
